Aditya L1: India's Sun-Studying Spacecraft Launched Successfully


Andhra Pradesh: The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched its first solar mission, Aditya L1, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on Saturday, September 2, 2023. The spacecraft was launched using ISRO's reliable Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).

Aditya L1 is a space-based observatory that will study the sun in unprecedented detail. It will carry seven payloads to study the sun's atmosphere, solar magnetic storms, and their impact on the environment around Earth. The mission is expected to last for five years.

The introduction of Aditya L1 marks a significant achievement for India's space programme. It is the first mission dedicated to studying the sun, and it will help scientists better understand our star and its impact on our planet.
