APDCL Engineer and team injured during operation against electricity pilferage in Gauripur in Dhubri

Dhubri : APDCL Engineer and team injured during operation against electricity pilferage in Gauripur, in Dhubri district of Assam on Thursday evening as APDCL team carried out a drive against electricity theft in the area. The Police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. The injured officials were admitted to a nearby hospital. Electricity department seized as many as five pump sets that were being run on stolen electricity to irrigate the fields. Employees of APDCL protested in Dhubri on Friday, demanding the arrest of the prime accused and the punishment of the perpetrators. Dhubri Police arrested 3 people in connection with the incident and an investigation is underway.
