Assam completes construction of over 10 lakh houses under PMAY-G

Assam completes construction of 10 lakhs PMAYG houses

On Thursday, Ranjeet Kumar Dass, the Panchayat and Rural Development, Food, and Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Minister, informed that Assam has completed the construction of 10,02,935 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) (PMAY-G) since 2016. He expressed his appreciation for the exceptional initiatives and speedy implementation of the scheme by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.


During a video conference held at the P&RD office, the minister thanked everyone associated with the scheme, including the CEOoZPs, RDAPOs, BDOs, D&BD Engis., JEs, PSs, GRS, GPC, and Reps of P&RD for their tireless efforts. The PSoP&RD Dr. J.B Ekka, Sec. Shri Munindra Sharma, and Comm. Shri Bikram Kairi were also present.


According to the figures, 4,04,304 houses were constructed between 2016 and 09/05/2021, while 5,98,627 houses were constructed between 10/05/2021 and 26/04/2023. On April 27 alone, 3,210 houses were constructed. The construction of another 9 lakh houses under the scheme is currently underway.
