Prime Minister Narendra Modi Launches Northeast India's First Vande Bharat Express

In a significant development for rail connectivity in Northeast India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the region's first Vande Bharat Express Train in Guwahati on Monday afternoon. North East is now witnessing the introduction of the first Made in India Vande Bharat Express. Additionally, electrification work covering approximately 425 km of tracks in Assam and Meghalaya has been successfully completed."


In anticipation of the flagging-off ceremony, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, remarking, "It fills us with pride that PM Modi will inaugurate the Vande Bharat Express today, which will bridge the gap between Assam and West Bengal. I extend my heartfelt thanks to PM Modi and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw."
