In a tragic incident, Junmoni Rabha, a Sub-Inspector (SI) of the Assam Police, known for being entangled in several controversies, has passed away in a road accident in Assam's Nagaon district, specifically in Kaliabor.
The unfortunate mishap occurred on Monday night when the vehicle carrying Rabha collided with an oncoming container truck, identified by the registration number 'UP 78UT 4518,' near Sarubhagia village along National Highway 37. The impact of the collision was severe, completely crushing the vehicle involved. Local authorities swiftly responded to the scene, promptly transporting the SI to Kaliabor Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital for immediate medical attention. Sadly, despite their efforts, the attending doctors pronounced Rabha dead upon arrival.
In the wake of the incident, Nagaon Superintendent of Police (SP), Leena Doley, personally arrived at the accident spot to assess the situation and gather information. It has been revealed that Rabha was off-duty and wearing civilian attire, driving towards Upper Assam when the accident took place at approximately 2 am.
Subsequently, Rabha's body has been transferred to Nagaon for post-mortem examination, according to reliable sources.
Junmoni Rabha, who served as a Sub-Inspector at Morakolong police station in Nagaon, had previously made headlines due to her involvement in various controversies. These included allegations of corruption, criminal conspiracy, and cheating, leading to her subsequent arrest. However, she was later released on bail by a session's court.
